Standard Transfer & transfer rules

1) Transfer

The transfer market is open 24 hours a day, so you can sell or buy players whenever you like. You can sell as many players as you want, the only limit is: At least 15 players have to stay in your squad.

The transfers of the players are working like an auction, meaning the highest bidder receives the player when the action is closed.

Overview: The players’ overview is showing information concerning your active auctions, your finished auctions and concerning the auctions that you are observing. All auctions you ever took part in are listed here. If you want them more clearly arranged, feel free to erase closed auctions by activating the related box. If you are interested in your old auctions, you can always access the historical overview in the "archive".

Auctioned players: At this menu-item you have access to the whole players-market, meaning you can see every active auction. By clicking on the players name you can see every detail concerning the player, helping you to evaluate the player’s strength.

If you are interested in a player, you can purchase him by auction. Just enter the amount of money you want to spend in the panel "your maximum bid". The system then is bidding automatically until the limit of your maximum bid is reached. If this maximum bid is surpassed by another manager, you have to raise your maximum bid again before the action is finished to still have a chance to get the player. Notify: If you are the winner of an auction, you never pay more your maximum bid. You only pay 100 Euro more than the second highest bidder.

If you accidentally have bidden too much, it is easy to reduce the amount by just entering a reduced bid (if you are the highest bidder; but you can't go below the actual second bidder's bid).

The player automatically will be transferred to the highest bidder's team after the auction ended, and then you can see it in your squad. Note: If an auction ends on a match day (Tuesday or Friday), the players will not be transferred to your team between 9:00 am and 8:30 pm. The player will change into your team after about 8:30 pm. This also applies to youth players and coaches. If an auction ends during a training the player/youth player/coach will change teams when the training is finished, observable at HOME / Calculations.

Sell players: If you want to sell a player, you have to put him on the transfer-market. In order to do so, you have to click on your player in the squad-overview (office -> squad). Just click the link "sell" and decide about the "opening price" and the start and end of your auction. The minimal time for an auction is 2 days, the maximum is 7 days. The auction starts the moment you press "start auction". Users with a premium account can enter a later starting point. If you want an opening price higher than 4 Euro, you have to pay a 20% tax on the amount of your opening price. Notify: This money is gone, whether you find someone to pay this price or not!

If you sell a player within 2 weeks’ time twice or more often, he will lose motivation-points.

There is a 10% tax on the selling-price. This tax has to be paid by the seller, meaning if you sell a player for 10.000 Euro, there is a tax of 1.000 Euro - you will receive 9.000 Euro on your account. Be careful which player you put on the market and enter your opening bid correctly (no cutting-points like "." "," " " etc. between the numbers). Once a player is on the market, he cannot be withdrawn from it.

Important: A buyer cannot bid on an auction, if he and the seller have played "You are the Football Manager" with the same IP-address within 6 weeks. This rule has been reason for discussions amongst the users, but there is no point in allowing such bids - they will always smell like cheating.
